The Greek Temples of Paestum
The best preserved Greek temple in the world is the Temple of Neptune in Paestum (5th century B.C.). There are two more very well preserved temples in the same location. The unique charateristic of the area is the presence of differet historical layers that date back to the Greek and Roman Ages. The visit will also include the Archeological Museum of Paestum where you will be able to see artifacts from the excavations in the area. Additonally, you will be able to view one of the very rare examples of Greek painting in the world, “The Tomb of the Diver”.
Paestum is also famous for its water buffalo and the fresh buffalo milk mozzarella cheese. If you would like to try this world famous mozzarella, you can arrange to visit a mozzarella cheese factory and have a mozzarella tasting.
